Summer Volunteers

Let reading connect you with your Library, community, and world!

Summer Volunteers (grades 7-12)

If you’re friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children, sign up to become a Summer Volunteer at the Glenview Public Library! Glenview Summer Volunteers MUST be a Glenview Village Resident or attend a school served by the Glenview Public Library entering 7th grade or above in order to apply.

In-person Summer Volunteer opportunities will run through August 15. Most opportunities will be available on a self-registration basis once your application has been approved. Volunteers will be limited to four hours of in-person volunteer opportunities at this time. If more hours are needed, you may ask to be considered for volunteer substitute work. Volunteer substitutes may be asked to fill in for cancellations and given the opportunity to work on special projects.

Program Description

Summer Volunteers will sign up for individual tasks to complete in-person at the Library. Please see below for examples of the types of tasks a volunteer may register to assist with:

  • Help children and their grownups with prize pick-up for the Summer Reading Challenge
  • Prep materials for programs and kits
  • Assist Library staff at programs and events
