Earn service credit while giving back to our community! Choose from a variety of volunteer activities below that can be completed at home, online, or outdoors. Glenview Virtual Volunteers MUST be a Glenview Village resident or attend a school served by the Glenview Public Library in order to receive validation of service hours.
To validate your volunteer hours for your virtual volunteer projects, you must follow this link to join the Teen Virtual Volunteers team via our volunteer website. Once you have joined and/or created your online account, you will need to login to your account online or via the Helper Helper smartphone and tablet app and choose “Ongoing Opportunities” from the home page. Choose the project you wish to complete from the list and read the description of the project.
Submitting Time for Validation
To submit your volunteer hours for approval, click on “Add Past Commitment” at the bottom of the Opportunity Details page and choose your specific project. Fill out the information and estimate how many hours of service you think you earned according to the description, as well as the date and time you worked on your project.
Please upload the files or photos needed to verify your work in the file attachment section before you submit. Make sure to save any files created in a Document Editor as a PDF to upload. If you forget to upload your files, you can edit submissions by returning to the Home page, clicking on “My Commitments” and then “Past.” Choose the correct entry and click on the clipboard icon to upload your project files.
Viewing/Printing Transcript for Volunteer Hours
It may take up to 5 business days for volunteer hours to be validated. To download a transcript of all service hours that have been approved, navigate to the Home Page and click on “See Stats and Goals” then switch to the “Service Record” view. At the top of the list of all your service hours recorded via Helper Helper, there is a “Generate Service Portfolio” button. Clicking this will send an email with your service transcript to the email address linked to your Helper Helper account, while clicking “View Now” allows you to download a PDF of the record immediately.
