Give your child a head start in school with 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, a new self-guided early literacy program. Record each time you read a book with your child, then visit the Library to receive a special prize for every 100 book milestone. Welcome back to the Storybook Trail! Stroll, hop, skip or better yet bike along the trail to read I’m New Hereby Anne Sibley O’Brien. This heartwarming story follows three immigrant children, navigating their way through a new language, a new culture, and new schools.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and was developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.

The North Shore YMCA Art Academy provides a monthly opportunity for preschoolers and caregivers to be creative and work together to produce unique works of art.
Baby Signs® (birth-age 3)
Fridays, October 12 & November 9, 10:30-11 AM Youth Program Room
Pre-readers learn sign language with their families through new activities, songs, and vocabulary each month. Led by Jamie Stevens, ASL interpreter and certified Baby Signs® instructor. Tickets given out 20 minutes prior to the program.
