How do you sleep at night
knowing you’ve taken someone’s smile?
How could you do that knowing
they never stopped loving you?
not even for a while.

Did you ever realize
you were so important in their life?
How could you say “I love you”
when it was nothing but a lie?

How do you cope with the fact
that you made their heart turn black?
You ripped it out and left it somewhere
now they’ll never get it back.

How could you say “It’s over”
when nothing was there from the start?
How do you stay alive
without a soul or even a heart?

When did things get to the point
that they felt surreal?
Why is it that, when things go wrong
I’m not able to feel?
