Wii Play @ the Glenview Public Library!
Saturday, March 8th: 5-9PM
Celebrate Teen Tech Week with our NEW Nintendo Wii AND XBOX360! Library has all new gear for the new year to show off, including Guitar Hero and Rock Band for XBOX360 and Wii Play and Wii Sports! Enjoy pizza and refreshments while jamming the night away. After-hours program.

Teens Read @ Starbucks
Friday, April 11th 7-8PM
Take a second bite of the Vampire series to kick off National Library Week! New Moon by Stephenie Mayer will be available at the Circulation Desk by March 11th. Discussion will take place at Starbucks, 1895 Tower Drive, Glenview (the Glen). All teens participating will receive a beverage of their choice and yummy pastries.

Poetry Contest
April 13-19, 2008
Celebrate National Library Week by entering in a Poetry Contest! Two $10 Barnes & Noble gift cards to be awarded to best in show selected by a teen panel of judges. Teens may submit up to two pieces of original poetry during National Library Week. Application to be a judge will be at the Readers Services Desk beginning April 1st. Winners will be selected and notified after April 19th. Poetry guidelines will also be at Readers Services Desk by April 1st.

Teen Literature Day

Celebrate by checking out our vast collection of YA titles and sharing your favorites via review in the drop box in the Teen Corner on April 17th! Review forms will be available by April 13th in the Teen Corner.

Teen Game Night
Saturday, April 26th 5-9PM
Saturday, May 31st 5-9PM
Join us for another Teen Game Night! Enjoy the library’s selection of video games or bring in your own. Rock Band and Guitar Hero will be available for our XBOX360, and Wii Sports and Wii Play. Square off with multiple gamers on three screens and enjoy pizza and refreshments. Bring your friends! Bring game consoles and games you wish to share and play.

Comic Book and Manga Swap
Saturday, May 3rd 1-3PM
Celebrate FREE Comic Book Day! Bring a manga to swap, share a comic book story, and enjoy refreshments too! Tim Broderick, creator of the web comic Odd Jobs and author the graphic novel Cash & Carry, will be joining us to talk about his experiences as an author and talk about his latest novel. Drop-in program.

Any teen interested in donating their time and talents to the library are always welcome to pick up an application for the VolunTeen program at the Adult Information Desk. This is a year-round program and provides service points for teens ages 13 and up who would like to help out with various aspects of library work. This is a great way to become familiar with the library’s day-to-day operations and become involved in your community.
