Complete five easy steps to win a tasty treat and a chance to enter the Grand Prize raffle. Weekly raffles, too. Three of your completed steps must be books—but magazines, movies, or attending a teen summer program all count, too.

Special Activities

Library Facebook Photo Contest (PDF)

Plan your photo shoot and make your pet a literary star! Adult and high school teen Glenview Library cardholders are invited to submit a pet photo with a literary theme from June 7—July 7. Photos will be posted on the Library’s Facebook page from July 13-23. The photo with the most “Likes” will receive a $25 gift certificate to a local pet store. Contest rules and submission details (PDF).

Pet Supply Drive (PDF)

While you “unleash” a summer of reading, “paws” to think about dogs and cats in need and make a donation of pet supplies for the Heartland Animal Shelter. A collection bin will be located in the Library Lobby from June 7–July 27.

Summer Reading Kick-Off Festival (PDF)

Sign up on Opening Day, Saturday, June 7, from 10 AM-2 PM and spin the wheel for a special prize.

Lettuce doesn’t have to be considered rabbit food! Learn how to turn it into something extraordinary by making healthy lettuce wraps with the help of Whole Foods Market Northbrook. As a bonus for attending, you will earn an extra chance at the weekly "Paws to Read" teen summer reading drawing.

Delectable Dog Bone Cookies

Wednesday, July 2, 2-3 PM
Community Room East • Ages 13-18
Register by June 27 • Limit 20

Glenbrook South Foods teacher, Kelli McDonald, will demonstrate what goes into cookie decoration and how to decorate cookies that are shaped like dog bones. Woof it up at this fun and tasty program. Participants will also receive a raffle slip for the "Paws to Read" teen summer reading weekly drawing.
