New Reference Books
Each month the library acquires new and informative reference books. Here is a collection of brief descriptions.
Look for the books themselves on the table to the right of the doorway as you enter the Reference Room.
Business Resources
The Peter Bury Room
(named in honor of the Library's Executive Librarian from 1958 - 1988) is home
to our Business Reference collection. Here you'll find investors'
services, corporate directories, annual reports, tax materials, information for
job seekers, and other business related reference books, including publications
like Barron's, The Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business
Daily, Crain's Chicago Business, and many
more.
Genealogy Resources
The Reference room contains wide variety of information to help you
explore and expand your family tree, including books, periodicals, microfilm, online databases, and the Lundberg
collection of professionally compiled genealogical information, including family trees and local history material.
Consumer Health Information Center
The Consumer Health reference collection can be found in the northwest alcove of the Reference Room. There you will find basic information on conditions and diseases,
guides to prescription drugs, descriptions of medical tests and procedures and directories of physicians. Basic medical textbooks and a variety of health newsletters
including the Harvard Health, Heart and Mental Health newsletters and the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins medical letters are available as well.
