Outlook & 3W FAQ – Glenview Public Library

  1. How do I get to my mail?

    1. There are two ways (for those assigned a mailbox)

                                                               i.      Login into windows using your own login and password, then open Outlook.

ii.      Use the browser to open Outlook Web Access “OWA”

  1. I haven’t been assigned a mailbox, how do I read All Staff email?

    1. You will have to use the OWA to access the “Public Folders.”  Public folders contain copies of all email sent to All Staff, Adult Services, Youth Services, etc.

  2. What is my username for OWA? Password?

    1. Your user name is first initial & last name. (Ex.  John Doe = jdoe).  For OWA though you also need to the PC what your domain is.  So you have to use either GPL\username or username@gpl.lib (for our example, GPL\jdoe or jdoe@gpl.lib)

    2. Your password is the same as your “Windows” password

  3. How can I access OWA from home?  (update, you can use this page at http://www.glenviewpl.org/owa/  )

    1. Use your browser and go to https://webmail.glenviewpl.org/exchange for a mailbox, https://webmail.glenviewpl.org/public if all you have access to are public folders,

    2. Or http://66.99.217.105:81/login  for the 3W schedule.

  4. Do I have to type in the “https:// “?

    1. Yes, the extra ‘s’ is required.  This makes sure the data is encrypted for additional security.

  5. Where are all the group emails we used to send to?

    1. As we move onto an “Exchange Server” we have many new options for setting up lists.  We are getting them setup slowly since we want to make sure we are using the system as efficiently as possible.

  6. How do I see the 3W schedule?

     a. Obtain a password from your supervisor.

                              i.  After login, select a date or date range.

ii.  Check the box for employee name(s).

iii.  Sort by location or employee.

                            iv.  Click on Display

                            v.  You may add the link at the bottom of the page to your favorites for future logins

  7. What if the 3W schedule has an error or is missing information?

                a. If the error is for the current day: check by telephone or in person with  your department.

                b. If the error is for a future date: Confer with the staff member in charge of scheduling for your department via telephone, in person, or in email.
