She and her husband Steve have three grown children and eight grandchildren.

Arlene Anthony and her husband, Bob, raised their four children in Glenview, watching the 1968 and 1986 additions to the Glenview Public Library. Her interest in the library stems from her background as an English teacher in both high school and college. For many years as a trustee, Arlene has worked toward the realization of a 21 C. library for Glenview. Happily, she can now focus on fine tuning our magnificent new building.

Over the years, Arlene has been active in both church and community, as she volunteered in Glenview schools media centers, initiated a Jr. Great Books program at OLPH school, and worked at various levels of the OLPH Women's Club, and in Adult Education.

She received her B.A. in English at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, and her M.Ed in English and Language Arts at Northeastern Illinois University. Until recently, Arlene devoted her time to real estate, while allowing space for tutoring English. But her first priority always has been her nine grandchildren.

Mary Theisen Mary C. Theisen
I have lived in Glenview with my family for over fifty years. Public service was the model I grew up with here in Glenview. My father served as Village Attorney and as a volunteer fireman. My mother served for thirty years on the Glenview Park Board. I have been active with the Women’s Club at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Parish, had a thirty year career with TWA and American Airlines, and am currently a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker. I believe the Glenview Public Library is a treasure in our community. I am pleased and honored to join the Library Board and continue my family’s tradition of service to Glenview and its citizens.
