Clerk II

The Circulation Clerk II is responsible for a variety of advanced proficiencies relative to the Circulation Department, therefore previous library experience in Circulation is necessary. Clerk II must have a working knowledge of library policy & procedure and deal effectively with routine and non-routine issues relative to the Circulation Department. The Circulation Clerk II demonstrates excellent customer service in all patron and staff interactions, and works as the liasion with the library collection agency. Head Of Readers Services

The Glenview Public Library seeks an energetic and creative, people-oriented individual with strong personnel skills to lead its newly reorganized Readers Services Department. The successful candidate will provide leadership to a top-notch team of Readers Advisory Librarians and staff, and should be flexible in adapting to change. The Head of Readers Services will be responsible for all aspects of the administration and management of the Readers Services Department, including personnel, budget, and long range planning, and will be an active member of the Library’s Management Team. Oversees planning and implementation of a wide variety of library programs and department training initiatives. Exciting opportunity to participate in new building project and in planning/developing new Readers Services initiatives. MLS from an ALA accredited institution is required and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience including the administration and management of a library unit, preferably in an Adult Services public library environment. Readers Services Librarian III, Full-Time

Glenview Public Library is looking for a creative, motivated, outgoing, and energetic professional to provide reference and reader’s advisory service to library patrons. Responsibilities also include selecting print and non-print materials in assigned areas, instructing patrons and staff in the use of library resources, and planning, implementing, and coordinating library outreach services with local area nursing homes, senior resident, recreational and other community facilities, as well as to the library's homebound patrons. Requirements: MLS from ALA-Accredited Institution; Minimum of three years' progressively responsible experience in a reference or readers advisory capacity, preferably in a public library setting.
