On Wednesday, November 12, 7 PM, the Friends of the Glenview Library warmly invite you to a special evening program in the Library’s Community Room with well-known Civil War historian and book dealer from the Springfield, Illinois area, John Alexander. Alexander will weave a compelling narrative that especially reveals the largely unacknowledged contribution of Illinois Senator Stephen A. Douglas in supporting Lincoln. This talk coincides closely with the 150th anniversaries of the re-election of Lincoln and of his assassination just five months later. $20 per person; refreshments following the program. Advance, pre-paid reservations required. For questions or to make a reservation, call 847-724-7784.
