The Genealogy and Local History collections contain a wide variety of information to help you explore your family tree and research local history topics. Print and online resources and special collections, classes and programs are all available to help with your research. Microfilm/fiche of Glenview area newspapers going back to 1929 are also housed in the collection.

Genealogy First Tuesdays is designed to introduce genealogy enthusiasts, at any level of experience, to new techniques for discovering their family history. Meetings allow participants to explore topics and tools in genealogy, including books, library databases, and websites. Share tips and tricks with others in a relaxed environment. A special collection of more than 300 books, periodicals, original genealogies, local histories and microfilm donated to the library by Mrs. Gertrude Lundberg and her family, who were also professional genealogists. To use these Lundberg resources, please visit the Reference Services Desk.
