Browsing the Shelves
Genealogy books are classified in 929.1; family genealogies will be in 929.2; regional and ethnic genealogy books will be in 929.3; books on names are in 929.4; and other miscellaneous topics related to the history of families, groups, and nations complete the rest of the 929 numbers.

Searching iBistro
To find books about a particular country, topic, or group, you can search, or you can browse.

To Search: click the “keyword” radio button…enter the country name or adjective and the word "genealogy" into the search box…then click on the blue “words or phrase” button…. For example: "England" and "Genealogy;” or, “English” and “Genealogy;” or, “English” and “ancestry.” Be creative!

To Browse: click the “browse” radio button…enter the word “genealogy” in the search box…then click on the blue “subject” button. The subject heading “Genealogy” is subdivided into more than 90 categories. Browse the list until you find the subject you want, then click on it.

You can search for a specific title by entering the title into the search box, and clicking the “title” button.

You can search for a book by a specific author by entering the author’s name and clicking on the “author” button.

Books in the Lundberg Collection can be located by searching iBistro as above.. You can also browse the collection by using the subject heading “Lundberg Collection.”
