CAGG-NI
Read this first, before you decide which north suburban library to visit for its genealogical collections and resources! Find out at the CAGG-NI website what materials are owned by neighboring libraries, and find out if they have what you need before you travel there.

Chicago History Museum
This Museum has valuable resources for Glenview researchers who are working on their house history as well as their family history. The website contains online directories, address conversion guides, and other unique and useful databases; and the Museum has building permits, fire insurance maps, and other resources.

Harold Washington Library Center, Municipal Reference collection, 5th Floor
The CPL Municipal Reference Collection contains historical resources for Glenview researchers, such as a newspaper clipping file, neighborhood histories, obituaries, and more.

Harold Washington Library Center, Chicago Newspapers, 3rd Floor
The CPL General Information Services Department has a collection of Chicago newspapers on microfilm from 1833 to the present, including the Chicago Democrat, Chicago Defender, Chicago American, and others.

Cook County Circuit Court Records and Archives Department
The Archives Department of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County collects, preserves, and makes available to researchers the non-current records created by the Cook County Court systems. Holdings date back from the 1871 Chicago Fire.

Glenview History Center
The Glenview History Center preserves the cultural heritage of Glenview and its people. Special resources include an obituary file, historical documents, and photographs.

The Grove National Historic Landmark
Visit The Grove to learn more about aspects of Glenview history, and research the Kennicott Family Archive.

Illinois Regional Archive Depository
There are valuable genealogy resources at the local Illinois regional depository at the Ronald Williams Library of Northeastern Illinois University. Here you can find naturalization records, and more.

LDS Family History Centers
Visit the Family History Center in Wilmette to view their valuable microfilm collection of family records from around the world.

National Archives, Great Lakes Region
Visit the Great Lakes Branch of the National Archives in Chicago to find passenger records and other valuable genealogical documents.

Newberry Library
The Newberry Library is free and open to all. It has an outstanding collection of genealogy resources such as city directories, etc. that will help Glenview residents with their research.
North Suburban Genealogical Society
Meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month (except December), generally at the Glenview Public Library, preceded alternately by the Computer Group and the Problem Solvers' Roundtable.
