IT Services – Computer Aide (Part-time)

The Glenview Public Library has a part-time opening for a Computer Aide. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Facilitating access to the Library’s Internet and other public computer workstations by registering and assisting patrons with their use;

Acting as a first contact for assisting patrons and staff with technology issues;

Performing basic care and maintenance of Library computer hardware.

Position requires excellent communication, customer service, and computer support skills. The ideal candidate will possess a basic knowledge of technology equipment. Must be able to troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues to resolution. Must be able to collaborate and work well with others.

Requirements:

Knowledge of a variety of computer hardware, software and peripherals is essential.

Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds.

Schedule: Approximately 13 hours per week; must be flexible for covering day, evening and weekend hours.

Hiring Range: Begins at $9.00/hour.

Librarian-II, Full-Time (School Services Coordinator)

Glenview Public Library is seeking an energetic, resourceful and service-oriented individual to fill a School Services Coordinator / Librarian II position in the Youth Services Department. The School Services Coordinator is responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong working relationship with area schools and school librarians, for assisting children through grade eight and their caregivers with library services by providing reference guidance, reader’s advisory, and instruction in the use of electronic resources. The Librarian II will also create, plan and conduct original age-appropriate programs for children and manage assigned collection areas.

Requirements: MLS from an ALA accredited institution is required along with two years of experience in a library environment working with young people.

Schedule: Full-time 37.5 hours per week including day, evening and weekend hours.

Hiring Range: $44,874 - $51,284 (DOQ)
