The Glenview Public Library has a part-time opening for a Computer Aide. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Facilitating access to the Library’s Internet and other public computer workstations by registering and assisting patrons with their use;
Acting as a first contact for assisting patrons and staff with technology issues;
Performing basic care and maintenance of Library computer hardware.
Position requires excellent communication, customer service, and computer support skills. The ideal candidate will possess a basic knowledge of technology equipment. Must be able to troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues to resolution. Must be able to collaborate and work well with others.
Knowledge of a variety of computer hardware, software and peripherals is essential.
Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds.
Schedule: Approximately 13 hours per week; must be flexible for covering day, evening and weekend hours.
Hiring Range: Begins at $9.00/hour.

The Shelver I position is responsible for sorting and shelving all library materials as well as maintaining the orderliness of all library collections.
Requirements: Applicants must be fluent in oral and written English and must have a high school degree or equivalent.
Schedule: 18 hours per week; includes day, night and weekend hours.
Hiring Range: $8.31 – $9.43/hour (DOQ)

The Glenview Public Library has a part-time opening for a Librarian I in the Youth Services Department. Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting children through grade eight and their caregivers with reference, reader advisory, online catalog and computer resources. The position involves collection development and programming responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be flexible, self-motivated, creative, personable and enthusiastic. Excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to collaborate well with team members required. Candidates should be proficient in the use of current technology and downloadable media as well as familiar with children’s materials and literature.
Requirements: MLS from ALA-Accredited Institution. Experience working with youth in a public library setting or related environment preferred.
Schedule: Approximately 25 hours per week; must be flexible; days, afternoons and evenings required, plus weekend rotation.
Hiring Range: $20.52 – $23.45/hour (DOQ)
