Youth Services - Paraprofessional I (Part-time)

The Glenview Public Library has a part-time opening for a Paraprofessional I in the Youth Services Department. Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting children through grade eight and their caregivers with reference, reader advisory, online catalog and computer resources. Position requires excellent communication, customer service and computer skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible, self-motivated, creative, personable and enthusiastic. Must be able to collaborate and work well with others. Knowledge of children’s literature and familiarity with e-books and trends in technology and social media is highly desired.

Requirements: BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university, or an LTA and relevant library experience. One year of experience working with youth in a public library setting or related environment.

Schedule: Approximately 18 hours per week; must be flexible; afternoons and evenings required, plus weekend rotation.

Hiring Range: $14.09 – $16.11/hour (DOQ)
