Note: If the item you want shows as ON SHELF, call the library during business hours at 847-729-7500 and ask that it be held for you. If you place a hold online on an item that is on the shelf, the hold will not be processed until the next morning.

If an item you want is checked out, you can place a hold on it online. On the right side of the screen showing the item there is a box with a picture of a hand that says hold. Click on the hand and then fill out your barcode and password in the next screen.

The catalog is unavailable Saturday nights from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. because of database maintenance. At times when the catalog is unavailable, you can try searching the Statewide Illinois Library Catalog, but this will not show recently purchased items, nor show if the item is available.
