Renewing & Reserving Materials

Most materials can be renewed or reserved at the Circulation Desk, by phone, and at public computer stations. Materials can also be renewed or reserved online by visiting My GPL on the Library catalog. You will need to log into the catalog with your Glenview Library card number or your user name, and account password to manage your account online. If you don’t know your password or need help setting up an account, please contact the Circulation Department at 847-729-7500 or review the Catalog Guide (PDF). Check the Adult (PDF) and Youth (PDF) loan limits for borrowing restrictions.

Online Fine Payment

The Library offers a secure and convenient way to pay your fines and fees online with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover.

Email Account Notification

Receive notice when your materials are due and hold items are ready for pick up by email. Access the Request for E-mail Notification form to register for email notices. Some email filters block the delivery of notices. Use the Test Your E-mail Address form to be sure that your notices will be delivered. If you don’t receive the test message or have other questions about setting up email account notification, please contact the Circulation Department at 847-729-7500.

Search for materials, manage your borrowing, and take advantage of many reader’s resources offered through the Library’s online catalog. Desk staff (Circulation, AV, Readers, Youth, Reference, and Technology Services) is available to assist you with the online catalog or a Catalog Guide (PDF) is also available for your review. The catalog is available in Spanish.
The catalog is also accessible “on the go” with the BookMyne® app. Search the catalog, renew items, and place holds with your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, and Android mobile devices. Download this free app from the Apple App Store, iTunes, or the Android Market.
