Puppet “Flash Mob” for Early Literacy

10 AM • Free tickets will be distributed for “Stars on Strings” (see below)

Help set a world record for “most puppets in a flash mob” AND get free tickets to a spectacular puppet show at 11:15 AM. Join the crowd to create awareness for early literacy activities at the Glenview Library. Just register and show up with as many puppets as you can operate at once, and invite your friends to do the same. The more puppets you bring, the better your chances to be part of a world record! Signed waiver required for all participants. Co-sponsored by The Glen Town Center.

Stars on Strings • A Puppet Extravaganza

Location: Park Center Lakeview Room, 2400 Chestnut, Glenview
Free tickets distributed at the “World Record Challenge”

Chicago’s premier marionette artist Dave Herzog will be joined by puppeteer extraordinaire Marc Dunworth for a very special and rare performance—the best of the best in one spectacular variety show. String puppets will magically skate, juggle, tumble, and transform. Two puppeteers mean double the fun and lots of surprises, too.

World Puppetry Maker Fair

Location: Glenview Public Library, Community Room

Featuring an international puppetry exhibit, make-and-take puppet crafts, and an interactive shadow puppet studio. Learn what it takes to tell stories in three dimensions. All ages are invited for hands-on exploration of different types of puppets, as professional puppeteers and local organizations share their enthusiasm and expertise. Just drop in.

Ocean Creatures Bingo! Food Bingo! Storybook Bingo! Glenview senior citizens will host an afternoon of fun. Enjoy themed games and changing patterns while you make new friends. Seniors will assist children in navigating their cards and playing the game.
